Commissioned for Issue 28 of Das Superpaper, Guest Editor David Capra

Marathon consists of three photographs and a short, fictional text utilising extracts from the 1964 short story, The Swimmer by John Cheever. The story is a semi-autobiographical recount of distance — the physical distance of space represented by the clash between the Australian wild and domestic landscape exemplified in the photographs; the ideological distances traversed through physical exercise; and the biological distance between adolescence and adulthood.
